Course Grading Scheme

There will be a total of two tests and four assignments in this course.  Tentatively (e.g., this may change), grades will be divided as follows:

Tests
Mid-term exam        30%            Week 8
Final Exam               40%            Exam week

Labs
Eight Labs in total   30%

Final mark calculation
To pass this course the student must obtain a minimum average mark of at least 60% in both the theory and laboratory work.  The theory mark is weighted at 70% of the final mark and the laboratory mark is weighted at 30% of the final mark.  If either the theory average or laboratory average is below 60%, the final mark for the course will be the lower of the two.
